Moms, May Your Health Be with You!

Moms are the best and we want to celebrate them in the month of May! We will be hosting events for mom’s. Check out what’s on the schedule!

Hot Stone Yoga- Saturday, May 4th 12pm-1:30pm

You are in for a special treat with this one. Forward Fam member Alicia Delaney will be leading this relaxing session. This special offering for moms is a unique, spa-like experience using the weight and warmth of basalt stones for deep relaxation. These smooth, volcanic hot stones are used to help decrease muscle pain and reduce mental stress: the perfect way to give back to yourself or the mother figure in your life.

This 90-minute event will open with a gentle yoga flow (no yoga experience necessary) to soothe and stretch the muscles. Our time will close with a guided body scan meditation in a fully-supported resting position. Personalized placement of hot stones during the meditation will support an elevated state of calm, clarity, and grounding. 

Please bring one yoga mat and pillow per person. All other props will be provided.

Don’t Worry, Pee Happy- Tuesday, May 7th 7:30-8:30pm

Do you leak urine when you laugh, run, jump, cough, or sneeze? Do you have to get up during the night to pee? Do you have to pee every one to two hours? Do you have to rush to the bathroom with the urge? If you said yes to any of these questions, don’t worry you are not alone. These are common occurrences, but not normal. It is possible to do jumping jacks, cough, sneeze, and laugh without leaking urine! If you experience any of these or just want to be proactive with your health, join us as we host Veronica Lane, a physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor health. Empower yourself with knowledge and some solutions to keep your pelvic floor healthy!

Mom and Me Workout- Saturday, May 11th 10-10:45am

Working out with others is more motivating and fun than working out by yourself. Grab your mom or child and join us for an all levels workout! Please be sure that you and the person you are bringing are registered.

Good Inside Book Club- Thursday, May 16th 7:30-8:30pm

Good Inside was written by Dr. Becky Kennedy, a clinical psychologist who specializes in families. It does an amazing job breaking down attachment, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and internal family systems into understandable concepts with examples of how to implement them into your family. However, it is so more than a parenting book. It is a relationship book. Wether you are looking at your own childhood, figuring out how you would like to parent, or just want to elevate your interactions with others, this book is for you.
