Coach Suzanne and Coach Mike go over the get up. It may seem complicated, but when you break it down it becomes a lot more manageable!
If you are new to the get up, start without weight. Once you have the movement down try it while you balance your shoe on your fist. (Be sure to keep your thumb tucked in your fist.) Once you are able to complete the movement without your shoe falling off you are ready to add weight.
Speed masks dysfunction so be sure you are not racing through the get up. Pause at each segment of the exercise and breath!
